Clarification!

My sister emailed me to say that posting a card a day until next Independence Day is a big task!  I re-read my post of July 3rd and realized that what I meant came out all wrong!  I'll be posting a card a day during the month of July and it will be a whole year of cards, and the last card will bring us full circle back to Independence Day!

I hope you enjoy the cards!

A Year of Cards!

We’re halfway through 2012! Starting on July 4th, I will take you through a whole year of holiday cards, posting a holiday card each day until we come full circle back to Independence Day.  I hope you find at least one card you will enjoy recreating! (I will be posting more than one card for some of the holidays.)

For the Newlyweds

Gary's niece married on June 16th and this was the card I made for them.  Their colors were chocolate brown and olive, but I just couldn't fit much olive into a wedding card!  Melissa married a good friend of Gary's and we're so happy for both of them.  The wedding was very, very western as our new nephew, Richie, is as much of a cowboy as any man can be!  Melissa is a recent college graduate (nursing) and it's been a busy couple of months for both of them.  I hear she's pretty handy during branding time, too!

Card base: Very Vanilla (SU)
Layers: Gold, Early Espresso & Very Vanilla (SU)
Stamp Set:s: Apothecary Art & Teeny Tiny Wishes (SU); Rose from Golden Years (CTMH) and embossed with gold embossing powder
Labels Framelits Dies (SU)
Gold Pen for edge of sentiment
Roses & Leaves colored with Mellow Moss & Barely Banana makers (SU)
Cream sheer ribbon: JoAnn's

Note: the brown edge on the left & bottom is poor photography, not part of the card!

Alcohol Ink + Bike Helmet

How does that saying go?

If it doesn't move, paint it!

My husband recently purchased a new bike helmet for me because I refuse to ride without one. This helmet was plain white with a black visor.  I purposely chose a plain helmet because I was thinking: ALCOHOL INK!

Since there is nothing, and I do mean nothing, fashionable about this necessary safety item, I painted my helmet with Silver and Sailboat Blue and the visor in just Silver alcohol ink (Ranger).  It now matches my bike and is one-of-a-kind!

The best thing is that the silver reflects light so I'll be much more visible at sundown!

Pocket Fun for Girls

This card is made with a very old stamp set called Pocket Fun.

Card base: White CS
Stamp Set: Pocket Fun (SU)
Sentiment: Card Chatter (CTMH)
Paisley DP: I think it's SU but not sure!
Pink DP: DCWV
SU Markers used for coloring
Glitter: Stickles (Ranger)
